"I gave Kangaroo a shot because..."
I gave Kangaroo a shot because I figured it’d be a cheap way to get some basic home security, but nope, this little money-grabber adds up quicker than you’d think. The basic plan feels bare-bones, and it’s like they’re nudging you to pay more if you want anything actually useful.

For what I ended up getting, it just didn’t feel worth the cash. The app was fine, I guess, but nothing special, and I expected more instead of dealing with this overpriced nonsense. I wouldn’t buy it again.

"Account stuff could be smoother"
my account was fine overall, but changing a few details and tracking down certain settings took longer than I thought it would. Support did help me out, just not as quickly as I’d hoped. It wasn’t a bad experience, but the account management side still feels a little clunky...

I’ve had Kangaroo set up for a bit now, and overall it’s been solid. I do get random motion alerts sometimes, though I’m not totally sure if it’s the sensor placement or just how it picks things up. It’s not happening all the time or anything, just enough to notice. Setup was easy from what I remember, and the app is straightforward. I’d probably give it 5 stars if the alerts were a little more accurate.

"Refund process was decent overall"
I ended up needing to request a refund, it went smoothly. Support didn’t get back to me right away, but their tone was polite and helpful enough that I didn’t feel brushed off. The refund came through like they said it would, just a few days later than I was expecting. Overall, not perfect, but handled well enough for 4 stars.

"Night vision is just okay"
Got this Kangaroo camera mainly for the front door at night. It works, but without the porch light, it’s blurry. I can see movement. Not faces.
Daytime video looks fine. Maybe I expected too much from the night vision. Still useful, just not super sharp in the dark. 3 stars.

"Pretty easy app, just a little buggy sometimes"
I’ve been using the app and it’s easy to figure out. Setup didn’t take long, and the layout is simple enough that I wasn’t really hunting around for stuff. It does get a little slow here and there, and sometimes I have to tap something twice before it actually opens, which is kinda annoying. But overall, it works fine and does what I need it to do.

"Easier to cancel than I expected"
I was expecting canceling to be a bit of a headache, but it was straightforward. It did take me a few minutes to find the right page, which was a little annoying, but once I got there, everything went through fine

I don’t have much patience for complicated contract stuff, so I was glad this was easy to change when I needed it. The flexible contract worked fine and didn’t turn into a big hassle

I did end up getting the replacement, so that part was fine, but it just took longer than I thought it would. Not sure what the holdup was, but it felt like it dragged on a bit.

"Wish I’d Spent a Little More"
I kind of regret buying this one. The whole device just feels cheaper than I expected, the plastic is thin, the buttons have that loose, wobbly feel, and the mount didn’t hold up very well. For the price, I thought the build quality would be a lot better. If I could do it over, I’d probably skip this and go with something sturdier.

I really wanted to like this because I had high hopes for it, but the sensors have been kind of unreliable for me. They randomly go offline, and a few alerts showed up later than they should have. Of course, it always seems to happen at the worst possible time, which makes it extra frustrating to deal with.

"Finally, Motion Alerts That Don’t Drive Me Insane"
I’m way more impressed than I expected to be. The motion alerts come through super fast, and it’s not constantly blowing up my phone over every tiny leaf twitch or random shadow, which feels like a miracle. Like, I was fully prepared to be annoyed, but nope, it actually gets it right. Really solid.

"For some reason, it’s just really slow"
For some reason, this doorbell camera takes forever to catch what’s happening. It misses people a lot, and when it does record, the video is usually laggy. Half the time I get the alert after the person has already walked away. I tried reaching out to support, but they weren’t much help. it’s been frustrating.

"Notifications are hit or miss"
The notifications in this app just haven’t been reliable for me, haha. Sometimes they show up super late, and other times I don’t get anything at all, which kind of defeats the purpose. I’ve checked my phone settings and everything looks fine, but it still happens. Frustrating when you’re actually relying on it.

I got the alert almost immediately when my back door opened, which was nice. No unnecessary delays or extra fuss, just a quick notification that gave me a little more peace of mind

"Pretty good packaging tbh"
My order from Hey Kangaroo showed up packed well. The box wasn’t huge or anything, and the item inside had enough padding so nothing got damaged. I also appreciated that it was easy to open lol. The only small issue was one corner of the box was a bit dented, but it didn’t affect the product at all. Overall I’m happy with it, probs a solid 4 stars.
